British paras in west Europe 1944 (Pegasus Bridge)

British paras landed near the bridge at Bénouville / Normandy ( Pegasus Bridge ) and prepare to defend the bridge against German troops.

 

Drop canisters with vital supplies arrive in time.

 

Troops and heavy support of the 7th para battlion backing up the paras at the bridge.

 

A air transported Tetrarch tank arrives in the morning ....

 

.... and is directed across the bridge to advance towards Bénouville to support the established but still weak bridge head.
